At the end of the movie we have been wrung out with laughter -- and with a few other things, too, because Pryor is more than a comedian in this film: He's a social commentator, and a man talking honestly about himself.

Richard Pryor... Here and Now captures a performer at a pivotal moment—allegedly sober, yet still fully Pryor: raw, fearless, and unflinchingly honest.

There are a couple of amusing bits involving President Ronald Reagan ("Motherf***** looked at me like I owed him money").

A disappointment, especially since it's the last full-tilt concert film of the funniest man in history.
