Mr. Oswalt is an amiable presence, a highly sardonic but fairly low-key comedian of the observational/confessional variety... What he's not is hungry. He exhibits little regard for comic timing.

Throughout, both Oswalt's more angry, passionate pieces and his observational material are uniformly sharp and confident.

Oswalt is as much story-teller as joke-spinnder and this 2016 performance is rambling and discursive in the best sense.

Talking for Clapping is a gem.
