Through the good and the bad, Def Comedy Jam 25 makes it clear that Def Comedy Jam is an institution that deserves respect.

There's something about seeing Black folk joking around in the same manner of as you and your friends yet still being a scholar with the manipulation of the way their jokes land and work.

Don't call it a comeback.

This hurt, and it hurt bad. The show in the 90s was hysterical and they were trying, they were hungry, they were some of the funniest people on HBO. This is, "ego stroking" I believe is what one reviewer called it. It's lame, it's nostalgia without actually trying to be funny again. And that kind of kills memories.
