There is no denying the dreaminess of Soavi's stream-of-consciousness horror show.

This so-so thriller should appeal mostly to followers of Dario Argento, the Italian filmmaker noted for such gruesome scare-fest hokum.

[Michele] Soavi creates a total, apocalyptic sense of dread that never leaves even the most domestic moments of the film.

Even when the film gets slow, it's nearly impossible to turn away and risk missing the next beautifully framed shot.
