Storyline

Anthropologist Dr Brockton unearths a primitive troglodyte — an Ice Age 'missing link': half-caveman, half-ape — in a local cave. Through experimentation, she manages to communicate with and domesticate him before he's released by an irate land developer and goes on a rampage, terrorising the local citizenry.

The worst horror movies are those that don't understand their own absurdity. Trog!, on the other hand, understands it all too well.

Joan Crawford's unfortunate swan song in this turkey puts her in the same company as Errol Flynn (Cuban Rebel Girls), Bette Davis (Wicked Stepmother), Veronica Lake (Flesh Feast), and other film legends who ended glorious careers in desultory fashion.

The tiresome film, resorting to campy dramatics, should have been left in hibernation.

I admit it: I have a soft spot in my heart (and my head) for the stupefying, inexplicable 'Trog.'
