Geek Girls

Geek Girls is not only timely, it's a must see documentary that all nerds, geeks, and fans of various places, fandoms, and walks of life should seek out.

The film seeks to comfort the afflicted geek more than afflict the comfortable geek. There is social value in that. But one still wishes the film dived deeper.

... [director Gina] Hara perfectly captures the push-and-pull of what it means to be a geek: being deeply attracted to a very niche piece of culture, while feeling compelled to reject that identity in mainstream circles.
