I can feel myself healing when I watch something as queer and trans and free and fun as Alice Júnior.

I’ve been asking for LGBTQ+ films that feel celebratory rather than mournful for years, and Alice Junior is a comforting sign that the time has finally come.

A wonderful story about a transgender girl going from a city to a small town, and how she dealt with the change. I am thrilled that they actually cast a trans girl for the role! Anne Mota is definitely an actress to watch!
