Critics consensus

“American Carnage is an unsubtle but intermittently sharp horror-comedy whose macabre, politically charged satire is promising yet too thinly spread to fully cohere.”

A lively, impassioned and only slightly exaggerated take on how some people use anti-immigrant sentiment to distract from their own monstrous crimes.

The film doesn’t reach the stylistic or narrative highs of its obvious predecessor, but if it’s not quite Get Out, the Hallivis Brothers translate issues facing Hispanic Americans to a horror scenario well worth getting into.

American Carnage is a relevant political horror film wrapped in a satirical comedy.

An interesting Latino spin on Jordan Peele’s Get Out, American Carnage blends horror, comedy, and political messages to create an entertaining story with an important moral core.
