While the film is aware of its superhero-ness, it never loses sight of the fact that it is set in a real place. This is a tough balance, and Basil Joseph gets it just right.

MINNAL MURALI is a really nice superhero movie with a lot of humor and heart, that skillfully adapts the typical elements of the genre into its genuine, local setting and really shines with its hero, but even more so its villain.
