Royalteen is a simple and expected teen drama that does what it does best – keeps things nice and easy.

This is an awkward sudser with few redeeming features.

There’s no main plot here, just a hodgepodge of episodes in Margrethe’s bottomed-out life, adding up to a rom-dram spinning all four tires in a mudhole of mediocrity.

Royalteen knows exactly what kind of movie it wants to be, and for that, it is able to thrive. While it’s a little flat in some places, the romance at its center certainly does it for me, and it’s nice to see them surrounded by truly good people...
