Worlds Apart

It's an often tender, affecting film that slowly creeps up on you - then completely takes hold.

It can't help but come off as a bit diagrammed. Yet the movie is onto something: what happens to a society when "ordinary" life begins to get stripped away.

The writer/director [is] so intent on hammering home his thematic points that the situations and characters seem contrived merely to underline them.

“Worlds Apart” earns the investment required of its audience to observe the building of bonds that may or may not be set up to be broken.
